The Irvine Golf Club,
Bogside sports a traditional links course established over
100 years ago owing much of its present day character to the
design work of James Braid in 1926. The course provides a challenge
to all with its subtle changes in direction.
Irvine Golf Club hosts the final qualifying rounds for the Open Championship
when it is held at Turnberry or Royal Troon.
The links fairways built on sand are divided by gorse and heather.
Every hole has its own identity and the greens are fast and true.
The neighbouring gulf stream ensures year round golf of the highest quality whilst
the peaks of Arran produce a natural backdrop to complement the birdlife of the
River Irvine and the Bogside flats where wildlife abounds. |

traditional links course, which tests the ability of all
golfers especially with the frequent presence of the westerly
wind.
This course does not require a long carry from the tee, which should
appeal to the shorter hitters.

area and has until recent times been used as a qualifying course
for The Open Championship.
Enjoy some spectacular views across the Firth of Clyde to the beautiful
Isle of Arran.
