(Two miles south of Ayr town centre on the A719 Ayr to Dunure coast road)
Designed by James Braid in 1927, this course is of genuine quality, which provides an enjoyable challenge to all levels of golfers.
Widely recognised and accepted as one of the top public course in Scotland behind St Andrews and Carnoustie.
Belleisle is a gently sloping parkland course set in picturesque woodland among a host of mature beech trees.
It regularly plays host to a number of professional tournaments and presents itself with wonderful views across the Firth of Clyde to the Isle of Arran.
There are only two Par 4’s less than 400 yards along with some teasingly testing Par 3’s.
It boasts a tricky closing hole of some 532 yards around a slight dogleg, over a steep gully and along to a scenic finish.
All in all it is an opportunity, which should not be passed up.

(Travel south from Ayr on the A77 into Maybole – turn left in centre of Maybole along the B7023 to Crosshill – when in Crosshill turn right along the B7023–as you enter Dailly then take first right along the Main Street – turn right over the bridge and then first left along the golf course driveway up to the clubhouse).
Situated in the heart of Ayrshire a few miles north of Girvan this parkland course lies amidst the naturally sheltered valley of the Water of Girvan.
The area enjoys an exceptionally mild climate, which ensures that the course is rarely closed.
The modern well-equipped clubhouse commands some spectacular views over the tree-lined course.
Enjoy the floodlit driving range facilities in order to loosen up before the main event.
A beautiful test of golf with a few tricky challenges.
Watch out for the water hazard surrounding the Par 3 seventeenth where many a golfer has come unstuck.

(Situated next to the Troon Railway Station).
Lochgreen Golf Course lies within the town of Troon and is often considered the best of the municipal courses in Troon although it is slightly longer than its neighbours.
Lochgreen is predominately a links style course but has one stretch, which has parkland style characteristics.
It has previously been used as an Open qualifier and is a course of genuine links quality. Jack Nicklaus once shot 82 followed by 68 here to make the cut by one shot.
The course has several holes similar to its near neighbour Royal Troon with some tricky gorse-surrounded greens and hazardous bunkers.
In particular the 16th dogleg, which sweeps to the right along past pine trees and punishing gorse before arriving at a well guarded green.
If you drive with confidence and strike commanding approach shots you cannot fail to enjoy.

(Travel south on the A77 to Ayr until Whitletts Roundabout – take the last turning from the roundabout into Heathfield Road (B743) – travel along for about a mile until just after the football pitches which are on your left – turn right at the traffic lights into East Road and the golf course is on your right about 800yards further along).
This parkland course has been vastly improved in recent times with the addition of hundreds of trees many of which have reached maturity. Some creative mounding has also been added to improve the character.
You will find no fewer than nine doglegs which all require accuracy from the tee in order to preserve your score.
Greens are cunningly sloped with some having two tiers giving plenty of food for thought for those who play here.
Watch out for the up slopes before some of the greens, which are designed to stop the ball in its tracks.
All in all it is a delightful golfing experience where you always receive a friendly and helpful welcome.
Not to be missed.
